President Donald Trump's envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, has said that Russia's concern about NATO's eastward expansion was justified.
According to foreign media, Moscow often uses this topic of discussion to justify the complete occupation of its neighbor.
Kellogg said the US did not want to see Ukraine in the military alliance, A2 CNN reports.
Asked by ABC News about reports that Russia wants a written promise not to expand NATO eastward to include Ukraine and other former Soviet republics, Kellogg said: "It's a fair concern."
"Ukraine's entry into NATO is not on the table and we are not the only country that says this. You know, I can probably give you four other countries in NATO that are against it and it takes 32 out of 32 to allow you to join NATO," he further said.
"This is one of the issues that Russia will raise," Kellogg concluded, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
