British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is expected to hold a meeting with dozens of senior military figures today, as planning for a peacekeeping force in Ukraine moves into an "operational phase".
According to foreign media, the prime minister has been trying to gather a group of nations that would be willing to help implement any peace agreement that might be reached between Kiev and Moscow.
He calls this the "coalition of the willing" and about 20 countries are thought to be involved in this grouping, writes A2 CNN.
Meanwhile, Starmer boarded a nuclear-armed submarine this morning after it returned from a long patrol, in a rare display of the UK's nuclear deterrence.
