Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has accused Russia of using illegal migration to Europe to destabilize the union.
According to foreign media, speaking at a press conference in Finland yesterday, Ms Meloni said: "We have to understand that the threat is much wider than we imagine."
She went on to say that the threat to EU security from Russia or other countries will not stop once the conflict in Ukraine ends and the EU must be prepared for that.
"It's about our democracy, it's about influencing our public opinion, it's about what happens in Africa, it's about raw materials, it's about the instrumentalization of migration," she added.
"We need to know that it's a very broad idea of security," Meloni said further.
She also asked the EU to do more to protect its borders, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
