Long considered Vladimir Putin's secret daughter, she has broken her silence about the Russian leader for the first time with a series of cryptic posts on social media. Elizaveta, 22, also known as Luiza, alludes to her "father" in comments as she laments a man who "ruined" her life and also reveals her feelings about Russia's war in Ukraine.
A woman believed to be the illegitimate daughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued an apparent rebuke to her father, referring to an unidentified person "who took millions of lives and destroyed mine".
Elizaveta Krivonogikh is believed to be the daughter of the Russian leader and Svetlana Krivonogikh, a cleaner with whom he is said to have had an affair in the early 2000s. Svetlana later became a shareholder in Bank Rossiya and in 2020 her fortune was estimated to have been $100 million.
In posts published on a private Telegram channel, Elizaveta, 22, posted a selfie of herself in a car along with the caption: "It's liberating to be able to show my face to the world again. It reminds me of who I was born to be and who ruined my life. The man who took millions of lives and who ruined mine."
The posts were reported by German newspaper Bild, which had access to a Telegram channel called “The Art of Louise.” Putin is not mentioned as the target of Krivonogikh’s ire, the newspaper said, but the context seems to indicate she is referring to him.
Last year it was revealed that Elizaveta was living in Paris under the surname Rudnova and working in a gallery that displayed works by opponents of the war in Ukraine.
The claims about her identity were made by Nastya Rodionova, a Muscovite artist who fled Russia when Putin launched his full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Rodionova severed ties with the gallery, saying it was "unacceptable" for a member of the Putin family to work in such a place.
Elizaveta, who has been largely inactive on social media since February 2022, defended her stance, saying, "Am I really responsible for the activities of my family, who don't even listen to me?" Before pursuing a more private approach to social media, Elizaveta often posted about what appeared to be a luxurious life, traveling the world on private jets and wearing designer clothes.
In 2021, she is believed to have been DJing at Rovesnik, a Moscow bar. During the party, journalists reported increased security and the presence of anti-extremism agents. Although the bar denied the claim, it had advertised that a "mysterious girl from the northern capital" would be coming to perform. (A2 Televizion)
