Russian forces looted 23,000 artifacts and other items from a museum in Kherson during their 2022 withdrawal, according to the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

According to foreign media, Scythian and Sarmatian gold jewelry, as well as hard drives and other technical equipment, were among the stolen items, Ukriniform quoted the museum as saying.

"Our museum was looted during the Russian occupation. About 23,000 objects were stolen," said Olha Honcharova, acting director of the Kherson Regional Museum, A2 CNN writes.

"Before the war, the museum held a total of 193,000 objects. The Russians were mainly interested in objects that they could later sell to private collectors," she added. (A2 Televizion)
