Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has just warned during a conversation with journalists that a ceasefire for the war in Ukraine is a "road to nowhere".
According to foreign media, he said that Russia sees no point of benefit from a simple ceasefire and instead wants to see a legally binding agreement for a lasting peace.
"The ceasefire is a road to nowhere," he said, adding that Moscow suspects a pause would be used by the West to rearm Ukraine.
"We need final legal agreements that will regulate all conditions to ensure the security of the Russian Federation and, of course, the legitimate security interests of our neighbors," he said.
"Those legal documents must be drafted in such a way as to ensure 'the impossibility of violating these agreements'", he added, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
