Russia's Defense Ministry has provided an update on military activity in its southern Kursk region.
According to foreign media, Moscow's Chief of the Military Staff, Valery Gerasimov, told Vladimir Putin yesterday that Russian troops had recaptured more than 99% of the territory occupied by Ukraine in the Kursk region in an incursion launched in August.
In its update, the Defense Ministry says the operation to neutralize the Ukrainian presence in Kursk is still "in progress," adding that Kiev forces lost up to 155 troops in the 24 hours before the start of the "Easter ceasefire" announced by Putin, writes A2 CNN.
The Defense Ministry also claims that Ukraine has lost more than 75,325 troops since the start of hostilities in Kursk last August, as well as 411 tanks and 629 artillery pieces.
Despite US President Donald Trump's promise and efforts to end the war in Ukraine, a ceasefire agreement has yet to be reached. (A2 Televizion)
