A major police operation is underway in Germany to find one or more armed attackers who killed two people a day earlier, police announced.
The bodies of two victims, both shot to death, were found in front of a residential address in Bad Nauheim, a town north of Frankfurt, on Saturday afternoon, German police said.
"A large police force has been deployed," including plainclothes police, special forces units, and helicopters, to search for the attacker or attackers.
"Based on the information so far, there is no risk to residents or other persons," German police said.
According to authorities, the "circumstances or motive" of the perpetrators of the murders are still unknown, as prosecutors and police have launched investigations.
Bad Nauheim is located 25 kilometers north of Frankfurt and has a population of about 33,000. The town is known worldwide as the place where Elvis Presley served his military service from 1958 to 1960 and where the singer met his wife, Priscilla Presley./ REL (A2 Televizion)
