Bad weather, Paris-Milan trains suspended for several days. Eiffel Tower closed

Rail traffic has been disrupted "for at least several days" between Paris and Milan after violent storms hit the Maurienne Valley in the French Alps.

The French railway company Snc announced this, hoping that there would be no damage to the tracks, which would make the disruption of connections even longer.

According to the Savoie Prefecture, after the scorching heat that affected the area, violent storms caused the Charmaix stream to flood, unprecedented in 70 years, causing significant damage in Modane and the surrounding area, near the border with Italy.

Meanwhile, the French capital has been put on red alert for high temperatures, which has led to the closure of the Eiffel Tower until at least tomorrow.

The French weather agency Meteo France has issued a red heatwave alert in 16 regions today. (A2 Televizion)
