Footage from security cameras at the Canada-US border shows the horrific accident that set the customs checkpoint in Niagara Falls on fire.
Video posted on Platform X by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency shows the car traveling on the US side at high speed.
It shows a $300,000 luxury Bentley flying through the air before crashing into the Niagara Falls checkpoint and bursting into flames.
CBP is working closely with @FBI , federal, state & local partners in response to a vehicle explosion at Rainbow Bridge which remains closed. The vehicle was being driven by a 56-year-old businessman from Manhattan. He was traveling with his wife to a KISS concert. Both are reported to have died at the scene.
The dramatic incident, which occurred at 11:29 a.m. Wednesday, sparked fears for border security and authorities responded by closing four US-Canada border crossings the day before Thanksgiving.
The US police are still investigating the incident on the bridge that connects the state of New York with Ontario, while US federal agencies, including the FBI, have confirmed that the incident is not related to a terrorist event.
"Due to the complexity of the incident, the investigation will take some time to complete," department Superintendent John Faso said in a statement. (A2 Televizion)
