A court in Liverpool has sentenced 18-year-old Axel Rudakubana, who is accused of murdering three girls at a dance class in Southport, to life in prison (with a minimum sentence of 52 years).
The incident occurred last July, when the 18-year-old killed Bebe King (6 years old) , Elsie Dot Stancombe (7 years old) and Alice da Silva Aguiar (9 years old) , and attempted to kill ten other people during a Taylor Swift-themed event.
Relatives of the victims held hands and hugged each other, but remained silent as the judge announced the sentence for the aggressor.
After the trial ended and the sentence was handed down, Merseyside Police released a statement describing the attack in Southport as the "most shocking case" they have ever dealt with.
The deputy police chief described Axel Rudakubana as a person "obsessed with violence" who intended to "commit mass murder" .
At the same time, the police at the end of the trial released footage of the moments before Axel Rudakubana carried out his attack.
The teenager can be seen wearing a green sweatshirt, a hoodie and a face mask covering his nose and mouth as they boarded a taxi.
After getting out of the car without paying, he goes to the community center, Hart Space, where he then kills the three little girls and leaves 10 others injured within 15 minutes. (A2 Televizion)
