"We won't stop until all hostages are returned!" Israel cuts electricity to Gaza

Israel will cut off electricity supplies to the Gaza Strip with immediate effect, Energy Minister Eli Cohen announced in a statement on Sunday. 

"I just signed an order for the immediate interruption of electricity in the Gaza Strip," Cohen said.

"We will use all the means at our disposal to ensure the return of all hostages," he said, adding that Israel will ensure that Hamas no longer exists in Gaza "the next day."

This latest development comes as talks on a ceasefire and hostage deal continue, with Hamas calling for "emergency talks" on the second phase of the ceasefire deal, which Israel has rejected. 

Israel wants to extend the first phase of the agreement and continue with the hostage exchange, but without any commitment to permanently end the war. 

Last week, the country announced a blockade of all aid to the enclave to pressure Hamas to accept new conditions for extending the current phase of the agreement. 

On the other hand, a Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo on Friday to discuss a ceasefire agreement and the possibility of launching a second phase.  (A2 Televizion)
