In recent months alongside Donald Trump, Elon Musk has been suspected of using narcotics despite his statements that he was against illegal drugs.
The New York Times reported that he used ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms and above all ketamine, the anesthetic that caused a fatal overdose for "Friends" actor Matthew Perry, A2 CNN reports.
"The drug use went beyond casual use. Musk told some people he was taking so much ketamine that it affected his bladder like chronic users."
According to the New York Times, Musk has used ecstasy and hallucinogenic mushrooms. "He carried a daily prescription bag with about 20 pills during the trip, including some with the characteristics of the stimulant Adderall, according to a photo and people who saw it," the newspaper said, reports A2 CNN.
"It's not clear whether Musk was using drugs when he became a permanent White House official this year with the goal of cutting federal bureaucracy."
Musk has admitted in the past that he used ketamine occasionally, several times a month, to manage depression and told his biographer, Walter Isaacson, that he “doesn’t like using illegal drugs.” Recently, however, he has developed “more dangerous habits,” the Times reported, “using ketamine frequently, sometimes daily, and mixing it with other drugs,” writes A2 CNN.
The dividing line between medical and recreational use was blurred, causing concern among some of those close to him, the Times said.
