Pope Francis' trip to Dubai, scheduled to take place in the coming days, on the occasion of the 28th Conference of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change, has been cancelled.
The trip has been canceled due to the health of the Holy Father, with doctors advising him to rest as Francis suffers from a flu-like condition and inflammation of the respiratory tract.
" Despite the improvement of the general clinical picture of the Holy Father due to the flu-like condition and inflammation of the respiratory tract, the doctors asked the Pope to give up the trip. Bergoglio accepted the request with great regret ," explained Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni.
However, the Vatican's announcement states that the Pope and the Holy See remain ready to be part of the discussions that will take place in the coming days.
" The ways in which this can be implemented will be determined as soon as possible ," added Bruni. (A2 Televizion)
