The first direct meeting between representatives of Russia and Ukraine has begun in Turkey.
According to foreign media, it is Turkey's Foreign Minister who is 'leading' the talks between the two countries, which are the first in three years.
Hakan Fidan said it was essential that a ceasefire between the two countries be reached as soon as possible, writes A2 CNN.
The cameras then turned off, as substantive talks between the two countries continued, writes A2 CNN.
Recall that Putin refused to be part of these talks, as it was previously discussed that the meeting would be attended by the Russian President, President Zelensky, and President Donald Trump.
