At least 12 people were killed and 58 others injured Tuesday when a bus overturned on a highway in the eastern Mexican state of Veracruz. According to local authorities, the accident happened early in the morning on the road that connects the cities of La Tinaja and Acayucan, in the south of the state.
The Mexican National Guard said the cause of the accident was driver error.
Dozens of injured have been transported to hospitals in Veracruz and at least seven of them are in serious condition.
