Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has released a video in which he answers questions from his press office, referring to the decision to begin the total occupation of the Gaza Strip. “We are on the verge of a massive occupation of Gaza,” Netanyahu said, also emphasizing the displacement of the population in that area.
“Last night, we sat with the war cabinet, until late, and decided to intensify a total military operation in the Gaza Strip. This was the recommendation of the chief of staff, to move forward to destroy Hamas. He believes that this will help rescue the hostages during the operation. I agree with this decision. We will not give up any of our demands and we will not surrender to anything. This is what we are doing. We will not talk about details because we have talked in detail about this issue, what we will do about the hostages and what needs to be done to defeat Hamas. One thing must be clear, we will not go in and out of Gaza just because of the mobilization of reservists. We will leave those territories as soon as we have carried out the necessary raids. This is our goal. We will finally occupy the Gaza Strip. We are no longer afraid of the word ‘occupation’. We will occupy Gaza, clear it, and take control of every area we enter. Finally, after a year and a half of war, we will take control of humanitarian aid so that it does not become a supply point for Hamas. We are separating Hamas from the civilian population and from humanitarian aid. We will eliminate it, defeat it, destroy it and return the hostages. This is the only way." (A2 Televizion)
