Polish President Andrzej Duda has called on the United States to relocate nuclear weapons to his country's territory, as tensions with Russia remain high after a ceasefire in Ukraine was rejected.
For Duda, nuclear warheads stationed in Poland would be a deterrent to a future Russian attack.
The Polish president also said that he recently discussed this proposal with US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg.
"NATO's borders were moved eastward in 1999, so 26 years later there should be a change in NATO's infrastructure in the east. For me this is clear," Andrzej Duda said in an interview with the Financial Times.
Duda added that " it would be safer if these weapons were already in our country ." (A2 Televizion)
