From that moment on, the procedure for suspected cases of violence against minors began, with the intervention of the police, social services and the child neuropsychiatry department at the local health authority of Barletta-Andria-Trani.
The case is now under investigation by the Trani prosecutor's office. Experts called in to assess the situation revealed the girl's strong addiction to her cell phone, which she used for about ten hours a day. This addiction would have been one of the causes of her poor grades at school, and which had caused arguments with her parents. The 13-year-old admitted that after conflicts over school grades, her phone was taken away.
