Total darkness in Cannes. The entire city, with the exception of the Palais des Cinémas, is without electricity. Shops have their shutters down, restaurants are not serving, and even pharmacies have closed their doors.
Many police officers were deployed, especially at intersections due to the traffic lights being out and traffic being stopped, causing concern among citizens.
There is a power outage across the entire western Alps. The outage occurred at 10:00 AM, but the problems began after 8:30 AM.
The causes are not yet known, but investigations have begun. The Cannes Film Festival will not have any problems as the organizers have found an independent power supply, writes A2 CNN.
