German Chancellor Olaf Scholz recently commented on the agreement between Albania and Italy for refugees.
"It is an issue between the two governments, but it should also be taken into account that Tirana, in our opinion, will soon become a member of the European Union", said the German chancellor on the sidelines of the congress of EU socialists in Malaga.
"We are talking about how to solve challenges and problems together, we want to create a solidarity mechanism", he added.
As for the model followed, Scholz said that every step will be followed carefully. What matters, he added, is that "you don't overcome challenges alone."
"Cooperate with countries outside the EU against illegal immigrants. Irregular immigration must be reduced. For this, there will be close cooperation with countries outside the EU."
We remind you that the Italy-Albania agreement provides for the creation of two centers under Italian jurisdiction in the territory of our country: the first will be located in the port of Shengjin and will be a waiting point; while the second will be a structure very similar to the Repatriation Holding Center (CPR), which will be located in Gjadër.
