The first confirmed case of the new HMPV virus has been detected by health authorities in Thessaloniki.

The metapneumovirus, known to doctors, has been causing a pandemic in China for several weeks. The case in question was identified in the 71-year-old man, who had an affair with his daughter, who traveled to China during the New Year holidays.
After returning, her father began to show the first symptoms of the disease. He first visited a private clinic and then, on January 3, he was admitted to Papanikolaou Hospital, which has one of the most advanced lung clinics.
