Abducted Zimbabwean opposition activist Tapfumaneyi Masaya found dead Masaya reported that he had been tortured and his body dumped on the outskirts of Harare after he was abducted during the campaign.
A Zimbabwean opposition activist has been found dead after he was abducted on Saturday during a political campaign outside Harare, the Citizens Coalition for Change party said. This was the second kidnapping of an opposition party member in weeks.
"Tapfumaneyi Masaya was reportedly forced into a vehicle by unknown people while campaigning for the KKK candidate ahead of the December 9 primary," the Civic Coalition for Change party said.
Her spokesman Promise Mkwananzi told Reuters on Tuesday that Masaya was tortured and dumped on the outskirts of Harare.

"His body was later moved to a mortuary at Parirenyatëa Hospital, about 5km from the center of Harare, where he was identified by members of the KKK who had been looking for him," Mkwananzi said .
Zimbabwe has a long history of enforced disappearances and deaths of political activists dating back to the 1980s. The opposition has often accused the ruling Zanu-PF party of complicity in the torture and deaths of its activists.
Masaya's abduction and killing comes barely two weeks after KKK lawmaker Takudzwa Ngadziore was abducted, tortured and dumped about 50km north of Harare by gunmen. He survived the attack. (A2 Televizion)
