Mohamed al Bashir has been appointed interim prime minister of the Syrian transitional government, it has been reported.
According to foreign media, a Syrian television statement announced that al-Bashir will hold the role until March 1, 2025.
Mohamed al-Bashir will lead the rescue government led by the rebels, who through a swift offensive stormed Damascus and toppled the regime of dictator Bashar al-Assad.
The Government of National Salvation had already governed parts of northwestern Syria and Idlib, writes A2 CNN.
Bashir is a former engineer and has multiple qualifications that include engineering, law and administrative planning, according to The New Arab.
A CV published by the Salvation Government said he left his job in 2021 to join "the ranks of revolutionaries in the military field". (A2 Televizion)
