At least two members of the German air force were killed after a helicopter they were travelling in crashed during a training mission in the east of the country.
The German Defense Ministry announced the incident on Tuesday morning. A spokeswoman for the German air force told AFP that two of the crew members who died were "experienced," adding that a search was underway for the third member.
The helicopter, which had been rented for training purposes, crashed for reasons still unknown in the Mulde, a river near Grimma in the Saxony region.
The Airbus EC-135 helicopter had been missing since yesterday morning.
Police said that citizens who were kayaking noticed debris in the river. A dam was erected on a section of the river to limit pollution and the flow of kerosene from the remains of the helicopter's fuel tank. (A2 Televizion)
