US denies claims of withdrawal from Ukraine peace talks

US State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce called reports that the US is considering ending its participation in resolving the situation in Ukraine false.

During an interview with Fox News, Bruce strongly denied reports that the United States had withdrawn from peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, calling them false and emphasizing America's continued involvement.

"The idea that we're going to back down is not true. If there's no clear progress on the deal, we might change our stance a little bit," she explained, noting that "this is definitely not a step back from the process in any way," Bruce said on The Guy Benson Show.

Bruce also emphasized that the decision on a possible withdrawal from the negotiation process still remains with US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Meanwhile in the Kherson region, one person was killed and five others were injured by Russian overnight shelling that hit residential areas, damaging about ten houses.

Moscow's defense forces claim to have destroyed 170 Ukrainian drones over various Russian regions overnight, as well as 11 missiles (eight Shadow Storm anti-ship cruise missiles and three Ukrainian-made Neptune-Md cruise missiles) and 14 naval drones (unmanned attack craft) over the Black Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry reported, citing the Tass agency. Also according to Tass, fragments of drones or missiles caused some damage in the city of Novorossiysk, near the Kerch Bridge, which connects the Russian metropolitan territory with Crimea.
