Donald Trump's administration has been sued by Harvard University after passing legislation to cut billions of dollars in grants.
The lawsuit made public by international media emphasizes that the Trump Administration is endangering academic freedom, writes A2.
The US government justified the cuts with anti-Semitic protests that were held on the campus of the elite Harvard University. "The government is deliberately withholding federal funds to gain control over academic decision-making at Harvard University," the university's lawsuit says.
According to them, the measures are arbitrary and disregard the First Amendment of the Constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech. Therefore, the cuts should be suspended.”
The US government plans to cut Harvard's multi-year grants totaling $2.2 billion (1.9 billion euros). (A2 Televizion)
