The storm has brought down a giant Christmas and New Year tree, about 56 meters high, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Foreign media have published footage of the giant tree falling and announced that in this event one man died and two others were injured.
The structure of about 56 meters long, assembled in a lagoon near Rio de Janeiro, fell into the water, writes A2 CNN.
It is learned that the victim and the two injured were workers who had prepared the tree before its official opening and were trying to secure the perimeter around it, after officials issued an alert for bad weather.
It is learned that the victim has been identified and is Vinicius dos Santos Abreu, 21 years old. He was rushed to Conde Modesto Leal Hospital in Marica, a municipality in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro, 25 miles from the city of the same name, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, the other two men who were injured were taken to another hospital where it is said that their lives are out of danger, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
