The US President's Special Representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, involved in the peace settlement of the war between Russia and Ukraine, spoke of a "sense of confidence" after reviewing Kiev and Moscow's vision for ending the war, writes A2 CNN. At the conference organized by the German Marshal Fund, Kellogg also outlined part of the peace plan for Ukraine.

"We took the Ukrainian document, then the Russian one, and we said, okay, how do you put these two documents together to get to the end state? And now we feel pretty confident. We know what the end state can and should look like. And if we can get to that point, we think we can 'win' it. By win, I mean the ability to reach a peace agreement," Kellogg said in Brussels during the German Marshall Fund forum.

Asked what exactly the “final state” might look like, Kellogg said it would be a comprehensive ceasefire. “A ceasefire in effect — that is, on the ground where you are physically,” the official explained. “Then we want to get to the return of the children, the prisoners who are there, which would make it a long-term, sustainable ceasefire not only for the Ukrainians but also for Europe. Then we want to try to get the Russians back into what I would call the League of Nations. So everybody works together... You can all live with the results of that in the long run,” Kellogg stressed.

Donald Trump's special representative once again highlighted the number of victims on both sides, calling it "industrial-scale murder." According to him, the total number of killed and injured is more than 1.2 million.

Kellogg singled out Volodymyr Zelenskyy's efforts and also focused on the challenges facing the Ukrainian leader. Kellogg said he had brought this to the attention of the US president.

"I said, sir, we haven't had an American president since Abraham Lincoln who has been forced to do what President Zelensky has done. He's fighting a war for national survival on his own soil... When you see that, you have to appreciate the problems they're facing on the ground right now. I think we sometimes don't see that," Kellogg noted. (A2 Televizion)
