Chained hand and foot, Trump deports Venezuelan criminals

US President Donald Trump posted on the social network Truth a video released by the government of El Salvador showing the deportation of more than 200 suspected members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang from the United States to El Salvador.

The clip shows those Trump calls "monsters," with their hands and wrists bound, exiting a plane, only to be put on buses by riot police.

The video also shows the men being transported to prison in a large convoy of buses guarded by police and the military.

The detainees were then shaved to the knees before being dressed in white uniforms and put in cells.

To immediately deport members of Tren De Aragua, a Venezuelan gang designated by the US as a terrorist organization, Donald Trump used the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.

The centuries-old law, used only three times so far (in the War of 1812, World War I and World War II), allows the government to arrest, detain and deport illegal immigrants deemed a threat, without giving them a right to a hearing in immigration court. (A2 Televizion)
