"Let's negotiate!", Tehran responds to Trump: There are no direct

Iran will not begin direct talks with the United States as long as Washington continues its policy of maximum pressure and threats against Tehran.

This was stated by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to AFP, while responding to Donald Trump's statement about the letter addressed to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

"We will not start direct negotiations with the US as long as they continue their policy of maximum pressure and threats," Aragchi explained.

"Iran's nuclear program cannot be destroyed by military operations. This is a technology that we have achieved, which is in our brains and cannot be bombed. I believe that if an attack were to occur in Iran, it could cause complications in the region," the Iranian minister further said.

At the same time, a news agency affiliated with Iran's top security body reported that there is nothing new in the US president's statements about the Islamic Republic and his proposal for talks.

"Trump's model in foreign policy is: slogans, threats, temporary measures and withdrawal," Nour News reported in a post on 'X'.

"On Iran: first he said he doesn't want confrontation, then he signed a policy of maximum pressure, then he imposed new sanctions, and now he's talking about sending a letter to the leadership with an invitation to negotiate! This is a repeated display of America," the post further highlights.

Trump said earlier on Friday that he wants to negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran and sent a letter to the Iranian leadership saying he hopes they will agree to negotiate.

"I said I hope we negotiate, because it would be a lot better for Iran," Trump said in an interview with Fox Business Network. (A2 Televizion)
