President Donald Trump has threatened to impose "severe tariffs" on Russia if a peace deal in Ukraine is not reached within 50 days.
According to foreign media, this announcement has received the support of US Senator Lindsey Graham, who says that tariffs on countries that buy cheap Russian oil will "hit Putin where it hurts most."
Referring to the recent US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, Graham added that if Putin "and others" are wondering what will happen on the 51st day, "I would suggest they call the Ayatollah."
Iran has been a key ally of Russia in its war against Ukraine and has helped Moscow develop its own weapons, writes A2 CNN.
"If I were a country buying cheap Russian oil, supporting Putin's war machine, I would take President Trump at his word," Graham said. (A2 Televizion)
