US President Donald Trump spoke today at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.
"We need to bring back religion," were the words with which Trump began his statement to those present, foreign media wrote.
Addressing the audience gathered in the Capitol's Statuary Hall, Trump said he has signed an executive order to create a new national park "filled with statues of the greatest Americans who have ever lived."
Trump also honored the 67 people killed in a collision between a passenger plane and a military helicopter over the Potomac River in Washington, before addressing the assassination attempt on him in Pennsylvania in July.
"None of us know exactly when our time on earth will end. You never know. A truth I faced a few months ago when an incident happened that was not fun. It was not a good thing. But God was watching me," Trump said further, writes A2 CNN.
So far, the president has stuck to his script, but he is spending a few minutes summarizing the events of the day.
"It didn't touch my hair, can you believe it," he says of the bullet, as he makes the room laugh.
This is the first of two prayer breakfasts the president is attending today, with the second at the Washington Hilton Hotel later this afternoon, writes A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
