"The movement to impeach President Trump has begun." This was the announcement made yesterday by Democratic politician Al Green in the House of Representatives, as he accused Donald Trump of working for ethnic cleansing in Gaza.
"Ethnic cleansing in Gaza is no joke, especially when it comes from the president of the United States, the most powerful person in the world, when he has the ability to influence what he says," he said, foreign media reported.
"Ethnic cleansing in Gaza is no joke and the Israeli prime minister should be ashamed," he said further, writes A2 CNN.
Green quoted Martin Luther King Jr. as saying, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice."
"Injustice in Gaza is a threat to justice in the United States of America," Green said.
"I rise to announce that the movement to impeach the President has begun."
"I will bring articles of impeachment against the president for proposed heinous acts and committed heinous acts," he added.
There were several failed attempts to impeach Trump during his first term, including two successful ones.
He was acquitted of all charges by the Senate in both cases, writes A2 CNN.
