"Ukrainians gave me 18 thousand euros to kill the Russian general,"

Ignat Kuzin, the 42-year-old accused of killing General Yaroslav Moskalik in Moscow, is suspected of preparing for it for a year after being recruited by the Ukrainian Secret Services (SBU).

The court decided to remand the 42-year-old in custody for two months, while investigations into the car bomb explosion near General Moskalik's house continue.

According to Russian media, during interrogation, Kuzin said that he was recruited by the Ukrainian SBU. According to the same sources, the 42-year-old revealed that in September 2023 he arrived in Russia from Ukraine and settled in the Moscow region.

When he received an order for a terrorist attack against Moskalik, he began gathering information on the Russian general by moving in November 2024 to the building where his target lived.

In this way, he was able to monitor Moskalik and his habits on a daily basis by recording the victim's daily routine, including the time of arrival and departure from his home.

Kuzin also appears to have admitted to buying the Volkswagen Golf, in which he placed TNT and nails, which he turned into a bomb.

On April 23, Cousin went into hiding to carry out his plan two days later, for which he was allegedly promised a reward of $18,000. At 10:30 a.m. on April 25, the 42-year-old is alleged to have received the “green light” from an SBU officer who was watching the explosive device being activated on video as Moskalik drove past the car bomb.

Russian authorities announced that they had tracked down the 42-year-old thanks to security camera footage that had captured him several times in the area where the explosion occurred. (A2 Televizion)
