The fire that broke out during the evening in a two-story house in the Houslow neighborhood, in west London, has claimed the lives of a family of five.
The flat was completely engulfed in flames and only one man managed to escape before the fire brigade arrived to extinguish the blaze.
After firefighters managed to enter the property, they found five people on the first floor of the house, who were pronounced dead at the scene. So, the person who escaped was urgently taken to the hospital and is out of danger for life, while the fate of another person who is reported missing is still unknown.
About 70 firefighters and ten fire engines were present at the scene. Currently, the authorities are still unclear as to what caused the fire.
London Fire Chief Andy Roe has offered his condolences. He said: “ This is a terribly sad incident and the thoughts of all of us at London Fire Brigade are with the family, friends and all those affected at this difficult time. The cause of the fire is being investigated ." (A2 Televizion)
