The US ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, said the US "sees no evidence that would lead to Belgrade" when it comes to who is behind the attack on the Ibër-Lepenc water supply channel. in the north of Kosovo.

"We certainly don't see any evidence that would lead to Belgrade, but someone did it and a full investigation should be carried out," Hill said in an interview with Serbia's public broadcaster RTS.

Hill added that it is good that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is supporting the investigation and that this speaks to a lack of trust and a "tendency towards mutual accusations".

The Kosovo Police announced that the attack was carried out with up to 20 kilograms of explosives.

Kosovo blamed Serbia for this attack, which official Belgrade rejected.

In the days after the attack, the Kosovo authorities carried out several operations in the north, during which they confiscated weapons, ammunition and other military equipment. Of the ten escorted to the police as suspects of involvement in the attack, two were sent to detention for a month.

For the Kosovo authorities, this was the most serious attack on the country's critical infrastructure since the war of 1998/'99, and the damages amount to around 400,000 euros.
