The Statistics Agency of Kosovo has published today the final data of the population census. According to estimates, the resident population in Kosovo is 1,602,515. According to the Census, the three municipalities with the largest population in Kosovo are Prishtina, Prizren and Ferizaj.
KAS Director, Avni Kastrati in his speech said the registration process has reached its goal and has gone as expected.
The population census was carried out over seven weeks, from April 5 to May 24 of this year. The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, said that the publication of the figures from the citizen registration process marks an important day for Kosovo, as they are of great value.
" The last census was carried out in 2011, enough time to become part of historical memories, but now thanks to advanced standards and technology we have an accurate picture of our reality and a new basis to develop and build our common future. ", Kurti said.
