The UK's Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, called for the new Kosovo government to be formed quickly, saying that this "is essential in these challenging times."
He said after the meeting with President Vjosa Osmani that the United Kingdom is a "key friend and partner" of Kosovo, while adding that "there are several things we want to see in the development of this partnership."
"We want sustainable and peaceful normalization for you here in Kosovo, between Kosovo and Serbia," he said.
Lammy mentioned the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue as an issue in which he said the next government should be strongly engaged.
"I hope that the next government will address the needs of all citizens, including progress in the integration of Kosovo Serbs and strong engagement in the European Union-led dialogue," he said.
He said it is important to see Kosovo make progress in Euro-Atlantic integration.
"With the support of the United Kingdom, we hope that you will be able to join the Council of Europe," Lammy said.
He also mentioned the fact that the United Kingdom will lead the Berlin Process this year "at a very difficult time," but also the contribution of British forces to the KFOR mission, which he said is "essential to the security" of the country.
Lammy said that Kosovo has made "tremendous progress" after mentioning the role of his party and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in the liberation of the country.
"His leadership around NATO intervention has been one of his greatest achievements," Lammy emphasized. (A2 Televizion)
