The NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR, has announced that Albanian, Bulgarian, Greek and Romanian troops from the Operational Reserves have begun their deployment in support of this mission.
According to the announcement, these reinforcements enhance KFOR's ability to respond to any relevant developments in the security situation, in accordance with its mandate. The Multinational Operational Reserve Force (ORF) Battalion took over the tasks from the Turkish Operational Reserve Force Battalion, according to a force rotation plan supervised by NATO's Joint Force Command in Naples (Italy).
It has a force of around 270 soldiers and will operate on a temporary basis, alongside 200 reserve forces already deployed from the Italian “Sassari” brigade.
KFOR said it continues to contribute to a peaceful and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo, at all times and in an impartial manner, in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX. (A2 Televizion)
