Just a day ago, Prime Minister Albin Kurti warned that terrorist groups are planning other attacks in Kosovo during the end of the year holidays, after the one in the Ibër-Lepenci canal.
But the Kosovo army is ready to respond to any threat. This is what the Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, claims, who in an interview for "Ditarin e Kosova" on A2 CNN, talks about the significant strengthening of the security forces.
According to him, the sophisticated weapons newly purchased by the USA, Turkey and Germany have significantly increased the capacities.
"We had a tripling of the budget for the army during this mandate and we managed to buy Bajraktar drones and other very important systems. Javelin missiles are very important for anti-tank defense. We hope to have them in 2025", declared Macedonia.
According to the minister, "Javelin missiles do not allow the penetration of armored vehicles and tanks inside the territory".
While declaring that for the moment they will adhere to the commitment given in 2013 not to send the army to the north, Macedonia emphasized that the issue would be examined in the future.
