Electricity in Kosovo will increase in price by 15% starting in April. Currently, for consumers who spend up to 800 kWh within a month, the price of electricity is 7.79 cents per kWh, while after the increase, one kilowatt is expected to cost 8.96 cents.
This decision is expected to affect the increase in prices of products and services, so citizens have openly expressed their revolt against the decision of the Energy Regulatory Office in Kosovo.
The activist group "Not a Cent More" has also organized a symbolic action, hitting the chairman of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO), Ymer Fejzullahu, with a cake.
In a video shared by the group on social media, an activist is seen slamming Fejzullahu's cake, which has 15% written on it, into the steering wheel of his vehicle.
" 15% is not enough. No pasarán, after numerous requests from citizens, we have decided to "sweeten" the chairman of ERO with 15%. Mr. Ymer likes cakes with the owners of KEDS, so of course he must also like the cakes of the citizens. Congratulations ", the announcement says. (A2 Televizion)
