The commemoration of those who made important contributions to independence is at the heart of the February 17 holiday. Kosovo's President, Vjosa Osmani, along with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, paid homage at the resting place of the historic president, Ibrahim Rugova, writes A2 CNN.
The heads of state expressed gratitude for his role in the country's path to independence. At this ceremony, Osmani and Kurti laid wreaths in honor of Rugova. The delegation continued its journey to pay homage to the grave of the prominent activist, Adem Demaçi.
The President and Prime Minister praised and commemorated his extraordinary contribution to the freedom and rights of the Albanian people, emphasizing that his sacrifice and dedication will forever remain in the national memory. Earlier, Osmani and Kurti paid tribute at the Monument to the Missing and the Memorial of the Murdered Children. They laid wreaths of flowers, painfully commemorating their suffering on this day of the 17th anniversary of Kosovo's independence. (A2 Televizion)
