Military partnership with Albania and Croatia, Kosovo condemns Serbia's

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo has strongly condemned Serbia's recent statement regarding the trilateral memorandum signed between Kosovo, Croatia and Albania on the "unification" of military forces.

According to the MFA, this statement, besides being aggressive and threatening, also represents a clear violation of the Brussels Agreements, which Serbia has claimed to accept, but has refused to sign.

According to the Kosovo government, Serbia continues to undermine commitments to build good neighborly relations and recognize Kosovo's institutions and legal framework.

“Serbian rhetoric contains hegemonic tones and attempts to present itself as the dominant force in the Western Balkans, demanding explanations from Croatia and Albania, two sovereign NATO member countries.”

The MFA emphasizes that Serbia's claim as a " guarantor of peace " is absurd, considering its destabilizing role in the region.

"Serbia was directly involved in the wars of the 1990s, which resulted in genocide and ethnic cleansing in Bosnia, Croatia and Kosovo. In addition to ongoing threats, Serbia continues to amass military forces near the border with Kosovo and support criminal networks in the north of the country," the statement said.

Furthermore, the MFA highlights the hypocrisy of Serbia's claim to neutrality, given its close ties to authoritarian regimes such as Russia and Iran. The Republic of Kosovo calls on Serbia to respect the agreements reached, renounce hegemonic ambitions and recognize Kosovo's sovereignty.

Kosovo also demands the opening of Serbian archives on war crimes, particularly those of the 38th Motorized Brigade of the Yugoslav Army, which committed massacres in Kosovo during 1998-1999.

"Without justice for the victims, there can be no true peace and reconciliation in the region. Kosovo will continue to strengthen its security and partnerships in cooperation with its allies, uninfluenced by threats from Serbia," it is further underlined. (A2 Televizion)
