The Government of Kosovo has approved on Friday the increase of pensions for all categories resulting from the last war in Kosovo, by 20 percent.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti's cabinet approved updating an annex to the Law on War Categories during a meeting on Friday to enable the increase promised last October.
"As we announced in October, today, even officially, the increase of 20 percent over the current amount will be approved for the families of martyrs, invalids, veterans, members of the Kosovo Liberation Army, victims of sexual violence and civilian victims," Kurti said. .
This increase will benefit the families of martyrs, invalids, veterans, members of the former Kosovo Liberation Army, victims of war sexual violence, civilian victims and their family members.
The Minister of Finance of Kosovo, Hekuran Murati, said that the increase for all categories of veterans, invalids and victims of sexual violence will be 20 percent above the current pension amount.
"For the family that gave one martyr, the increase will be 20 percent, while for the family that gave two or more martyrs, the increase will be greater. The same applies to pensions for the families of the missing," he said./ REL (A2 Televizion)
