The celebrations in Kosovo for November 28 always start with tributes at the memorial complex in Prekaz, to honor the Jashari family, marking the first public appearance of the Kosovo Liberation Army and all those who died for freedom. President Vjosa Osmani, together with Speaker Glauk Konjufca, considered this 111th anniversary of Albania's independence a day of reflection for all heroes.
"It is the red and black flag and the date November 28 that reminds each of us of the high price of freedom and at the same time the sacrifices that have been made for centuries so that everyone can live free. Today, Albanians everywhere mark this day and at the same time it is also a moment of reflection for all that our heroes have done for Albanians, from the hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu, to Ismail Qemaili, Hasan Prishtina, Isa Boletini to the heroes of the years 90, Adem Jashari. Glory to all those who have given for the freedom of Albania, for the freedom of Kosovo", said Vjosa Osmani, President of Kosovo.
"November 28 in Kosovo always begins in Prekaz, where the highest sacrifice of the people of Kosovo for freedom took place. November will always be celebrated, I wish that they will always find us more united and stronger. Glory to the martyrs and congratulations on Flag Day to all Albanians wherever they live", says Glauk Konjufca, Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo.
In the Prekazi memorial complex, leaders and representatives of the Albanian political parties in Kosovo paid their respects.
"Here in Prekaz, we honor the legendary commander Adem Jashari and the Jashari family and also in other places where heroes rest. Eternal to the fallen for freedom of all generations. Long live Albania", concluded Ramush Haradinaj, Chairman of AAK. (A2 Televizion)
