The Special Prosecution has filed an indictment at the Basic Court in Pristina against the defendant MD, for the criminal offenses of "assault on an official person" and "participation in a crowd that commits criminal offenses and hooliganism".
According to the Special Prosecution, after securing and analyzing personal and material evidence, it has been established that the defendant MD, on May 29, 2023, near the Zveçan Municipality building, in cooperation and coordination with other defendants of Serbian nationality from Kosovo and Serbia, attacked KFOR soldiers and members of the Kosovo Police.
"After securing and analyzing personal and material evidence, it has been proven beyond a well-founded doubt that the defendant MD, on 29.05.2023, near the premises of the Municipality of Zveçan, in cooperation and coordination with other defendants of Serbian nationality from Kosovo and Serbia, through the use of violence, weapons and other strong means, attacked and seriously threatened soldiers of the KFOR peacekeeping mission and members of the Kosovo Police, causing bodily injuries and material damage," the statement reads, transmitted by Klankosova.tv.
Further, it is announced that the prosecutor from the Special Prosecution Office has requested that the Court find the defendant guilty and extend his detention until the conclusion of this case.
During May 2023, violent protests were organized near the Zveçan Municipality building, where masked individuals attacked the Kosovo Police, KFOR, and journalists.
