Major fire damage in Lipjan

A large fire in Lipjan has engulfed a warehouse and the head offices of a supermarket chain.

There are no reports of civilian injuries from the fire, but a firefighter was sent to the emergency room for medical treatment after his condition worsened after the intervention.

Imri Ahmeti, in a statement to the media, said that the damage is extremely great to the companies that have invested, while inviting everyone to be careful in high temperatures in order to avoid potential fires.

"It is a great disaster, there are extremely large damages to both investors who have invested a lot in these warehouses. There was also merchandise in the warehouses since they were functional. There is no human disaster, the damage is extraordinary. I thank the firefighters of Lipjan and neighboring municipalities who have been very active, but fortunately for the strong wind that blew and the constructions, it was impossible to save these two warehouses. Let's look further at the causes, one conclusion is correct that the damages are in the millions of these two investments. We are making efforts to completely extinguish the fire so that there is no smoke in the city. At this time of summer, we all need to be careful of fires, even field fires that are then causing problems, but in this specific case, my invitation is for all businesses to be prepared and intervene on their own to have the necessary firefighting equipment."

Remzi Ilazi, the injured investor, said that the damages are extremely large, however, the figures are still unknown.

"I don't know the numbers, but it will probably be fixed. The damage is very extensive," he said.
