MEC offices attacked, sentence given to 4 accused

The Basic Court in Pristina has announced the verdict for the four defendants in the case of the attack on the offices of the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) in North Mitrovica, which occurred on December 6, 2022.

Milun Milenković, known by the nickname "Llune", and Aleksandar Vllajić were sentenced to 5 years in prison each, while Dejan Pantic was sentenced to 2 years in prison.

Meanwhile, the fourth defendant, Miomir Vakić, was acquitted of the charges. All defendants were absent from the session where the verdict was announced, as, according to the court, they had requested not to be present during the announcement of the decision.

According to the indictment filed by the Special Prosecution, a terrorist attack was carried out on December 6, 2022, against the MEC offices in North Mitrovica, where an ambulance was also used to transport hand grenades. The attack was carried out with the aim of preventing elections from being held in the northern municipalities with a Serb majority. (A2 Televizion)
