Mimoza Kusari-Lila, the coalition partner of the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, admitted in a statement to the media that it will be difficult to form a new government, only with the support of non-majority communities.
According to her, even in the past, cooperation with non-majority communities has been formal and natural, but now Vetëvendosje, along with the Alternative led by her and the Guxo Party, are not enough in numbers.
"Even in the past, the 'Kurti 2' government, despite having a majority of 10 more MPs, started, that is, the coalition, or rather the reason for the coalition or formal cooperation was with these parties. With these there is also a certain form - there are also guaranteed seats in both the Assembly and the Government. The same goes for other minorities or communities of other majorities, but in any case there was treatment in the sense of cooperation or a continuity of communication from the previous mandate," Kusari-Lila said on ATV.
She added that in this mandate, the necessary number of votes cannot be achieved with only non-majority communities and therefore further discussions will be needed to form a government.
"It is not easier, it is a little more difficult, as we have seen - the numbers show that with only non-majority communities, like last time, it will not be sufficient or it is not possible to reach the minimum number of 61 that is needed for a Government to be voted in. Therefore, this is already a task that will continue the process and which will certainly push forward further discussion on the form and manner of achieving this number", declared Kusari-Lila.
